About me
I am an architect and researcher based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Born in Canada, I have spent the last eight years in the UK, where I am a registered Architect. My professional experience has been at both small and large architecture offices, most recently at multi-disciplinary design studio Building Design Partnership in Clerkenwell, London.
I began my parallel career in writing at the Architects Journal in the London as their Student Correspondent while completing my Diploma in Architecture. Building on this experience, I have established a portfolio of about 200 specialist writings including interviews with architects Will Alsop, Jan Utzon and Moritz Waldemeyer, reviews of new buildings such as the Oslo Opera House, Hotel Puerta America and the Copenhagen Elephant House, and exhibition reviews from Tokyo to San Francisco to Stockholm. I am interested in exploring the relationships between sustainability, architecture and technology, and I am currently a PhD fellow at Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark investigating sustainable building transformation.
I write regular features for international publications including Azure, Mark, Clear, Sleeper and ArchitectureWeek. Next year I will be Guest Editor of a special issue of Architectural Design with the title of Ecological Research as a Design Tool to be published by John Wiley & Sons in 2011. Right now, I’m working on a feature about Chuck Hoberman for Mark Magazine and a feature story about Canada´s 2010 Venice Biennale Pavilion for Canada´s Azure magazine. terri@terripeters.net
